As celebrated portrait artist Svetlana Cameron continues to work on her Tynwald Day paintings as part of her contribution to Island of Culture 2014, the second of the series, that of the Bishop of Sodor and Man, the Rt Rev Robert Paterson, has been unveiled on following a service in St German’s Cathedral.

The portrait, which shows the Bishop in the parish church of St John the Baptist wearing his convocational robes and holding the diocesan crozier, was unveiled by Mrs Cameron’s eight-year old son, Andrew.

Braddan resident Mrs Cameron said: ‘It was a total – and delightful – surprise when the Bishop asked Andrew to unveil the portrait. With no advance warning Andrew coped very well and was clearly thrilled to be involved in the proceedings which were so beautifully orchestrated.

‘I am honoured and humbled that my portrait is now part of the St German’s Cathedral collection.’
