Tower Insurance has sponsored The Children’s Centre’s calendar for the eighth successive year. This year’s theme was for the charity to ask its supporters to provide recipe ideas to suit a range of tastes, and which are also suitable for young children. The Children’s Centre’s Nursery Chef Sammie Gatt co-ordinated the process of going through all of the ideas and the 12 best recipes feature in the calendar. It includes one of the Lieutenant Governor’s favourite recipes which is a chilli prawns dish provided by Carey Chung – House Manager for His Excellency.

Thanks to the sponsorship all the money raised from sales of the 2014 calendar will go directly towards supporting The Children’s Centre’s charitable projects which help families and children across the Island. The calendar can be obtained for a minimum donation of £1 and is available from The Children’s Centre, Woodbourne Road, Douglas, and at the charity’s Action, Songs and Rhymes sessions.

Peter Gallagher, Managing Director of Tower Insurance, said:

“We admire the work of The Children’s Centre and the broad range of services it provides to the community, and we are delighted to sponsor this calendar with its interesting range of tasty recipes.”

John Knight, Chief Executive of The Children’s Centre, said:

“Tower Insurance has been a loyal supporter of The Children’s Centre for several years and we are delighted that they have decided to sponsor our calendar again. We hope that everyone who buys the calendar will enjoy making all the recipes, and are extremely grateful for the efforts of our supporters who took the time to send us their ideas.”
