Isle of Man Post Office is calling on the public’s help to unite a letter with its intended recipient.
Lucy Webster-Thompson, PR & Communications Manager, Isle of Man Post Office said: “We are trying to identify a Mr Higgins, a survivor of HMS Edinburgh who has received a letter from a fellow comrade and unfortunately we have very little to go on other than this information. Therefore we are appealing to the people of the Isle of Man to see if they can help us track this gentleman down and deliver the letter to him. If anyone knows of a Mr Higgins on the Island who is a survivor of HMS Edinburgh we would be delighted to hear from them.”
She added: “We have tried a number of ways to find this gentleman but without success so far. It’s not often we are unable to deliver a letter to its final destination but on this occasion we really don’t have very much information at all and therefore we need our customers’ assistance to see if they know this gentleman. It would be lovely to get this letter delivered and reunite two friends.”
