Over 75 guests joined Standard Bank on Thursday 23rd January to celebrate the first of the year’s eClub parties. Held at Bar George in Douglas, the pre-ICE expo gathering featured South African wines provided by Standard Bank, with nibbles provided by event co-founders Continent 8 Technologies. To kick off the night, guests were also treated to a rousing and well received live music session from local outfit The Chris Winchester Band.
Standard Bank is Africa’s largest bank by assets and earnings and it has had a presence on the Isle of Man for over 20 years. Its Corporate & Business Banking team has successful relationships with a number of IOM based eGaming companies and offer banking and transaction services which meet the needs of the industry.
Commenting on the evening’s success, Ian Hamilton, Head of Corporate and Business Banking, Isle of Man, said: “The Island’s eGaming sector is renowned the world over for the strength of its relationships and quality of its products and services, and I think this can be attributed in large part to its community spirit. This is fundamentally a social industry and the eClub is the perfect reflection of what makes it prosper. I would like to take this opportunity to thank KPMG, Continent 8, The Chris Winchester Band and, of course, everyone who attended for making it a fantastic night. We wish you all the best at ICE.”
The eClub is a social meeting place for anyone involved in eGaming on the Isle of Man or those with an interest in the sector. The initiative was started by KPMG and Continent 8 Technologies to bring the growing number of people working in the sector together in one place and start building lasting relationships. As well as providing a social venue, the eClub party also gives colleagues and friends the opportunity to chat informally about ideas and issues within eGaming on the Island.
