The Island’s Under 11 footballers will be supported for a third season by Royal London 360°.
The offshore life company began supporting the junior league in October 2009 – since then the league has continued to go from strength to strength, allowing around 350 boys and girls aged 11 and under to play football on a regular basis and improve both their skills and physical fitness.
Thirty-one teams are playing in four divisions of the Royal London 360° Under 11 Football League during the 2011-2012 season due to the popularity of the sport in the Isle of Man. The company’s contribution of £1,500 will allow the children to develop their skills throughout the winter by playing on Astroturf, as well as help the Junior League to meet the running costs of each match.
Royal London 360°’s Head of Marketing, Natalie Hall, commented: “It has been fantastic to see so many players improve their skills over the last two seasons, and see the success many of them have enjoyed which is why we are only too happy to continue our sponsorship of the Royal London 360° Junior Football League for a third year.
“The Junior League Committee does a fantastic job organising the weekly matches and supporting these boys and girls in their development, and I am delighted that we are able to help this to continue.”
Keir Morris, Treasurer of the Isle of Man Junior Football League, commented: “The support of Royal London 360° is very much appreciated, and without them, the League would not be able to run. The popularity of Under 11 football on the Island remains at an all time high which is very encouraging. Royal London 360°’s sponsorship allows us to help children to play throughout the winter on the Astroturf, and have fun and build their social skills at the same time. It is fantastic to see so many of them developing as individuals, and I am looking forward to another successful season.”
