Barclays has presented a cheque for £2,059 to the Royal British Legion Isle of Man following their £for£ matching of the winning Barclays team’s sponsored participation in the 2012 Manx2.com Plane Pull event.
Honorary Colonel Charles Wilson from the Royal British Legion IOM: ‘We are indebted to Barclays for this generous donation’.
‘We are very sorry to say goodbye to Manx2.com but would like to once again thank them for their invaluable support in selecting us as their charity of the year in 2012 – helping nearly 50 service personnel and veterans travel to and from the Island during the year.
‘Soldiers returning from Afghanistan have been moved from UK to the Island as have veterans to see families in UK and Service personnel coming to the Island’s Armed Forces Day commemoration. All these moves have been secured on a couple of phone calls. Manx2.com has been a great team with which to work. They have supported the Legion in so many other ways, such as finding us venues for events at no cost and providing publicity for various ‘happenings’ in support of the Island’s Poppy Fund. It has been a great year.
‘I’m sure I speak on behalf other charities who have benefitted from Manx2.com’s charity involvement over the years when I convey our heartfelt appreciation of all their support.’
