The Pay & Post self-service kiosks in Regent Street Post Office have reached their 10,000th customer.
The kiosks allow customers to purchase stamps, weigh and pay for letters and parcels and pay electricity, gas and phone bills as well as Government rates and since their introduction in Regent Street, have proved very popular. They also provide customers with ease of use and reduced queuing times.
Reverend Dr Dee Dee Haines was the 10,000th customer to use the Pay & Post kiosk and received £20 worth of Post Office saving stamps (which can be used as payment for any postal service) and Manx chocolates. She said: “I think it’s really nice that Isle of Man Post Office is celebrating milestone customers of the kiosks. The business always seems so customer orientated and I like that.”
In conjunction with the incredible milestone of Regent Street, Pay & Post kiosks in other locations have recently passed significant milestones too in their customer usage.
The 3,000th customer to use the Pay & Post machine at Shoprite, Victoria Road, Douglas was Tina Faragher and she was presented with a £20 Shoprite voucher and Manx chocolates. Tina said: “I am pleased to be the 3,000th customer and it’s a surprise to have been given such a lovely gift.”
Georgina Connolly was the 1,500th customer to use the postal kiosk at the Wessex Garage on Alexander Drive, Douglas and received a £20 petrol voucher and Manx chocolates. She said: “I’m excited to have been the lucky customer. The kiosks are so user friendly and I’m glad so many people are using them.”
Chairman of Isle of Man Post Office Geoff Corkish MBE MHK, who presented each of the customers with their gifts, said:
“It’s very important that we thank our customers for their support with these kiosks. Introducing the machines into these areas was intended to give our customers more opportunity, in terms of time and location for using post office services and in non-postal premises increase the opportunity to attract business before and after normal opening hours. Reaching such milestone transaction figures is evidence that there is a need for this level of choice and we are very pleased customers are reaping the benefits. We are reviewing the location of our kiosks to ensure maximum benefit to our customers and considering new sites to expand the number of kiosks available around the Island.”
