One small insignificant life changing step

| December 4, 2012 | 0 Comments

The all Island Christmas Stamp Appeal has been launched again this year, with churches, chapels and schools across the Island offering to act as local collecting stations for your stamps.

The first step is just to remember to cut the stamps off the envelopes with a 5cm surround as they start dropping through your letter box this Christmas ….. and start saving them! It’s a tiny act, but collectively makes a huge difference.

Can you believe that in just under 30 years, our small and insignificant second-hand postage stamps, which have been lovingly saved by thousands of folk across the UK, have raised an amazing £930,000 for the work of the Leprosy Mission? In 2011 alone the total went up by another staggering £83,168. Our Manx stamps are of particular value to collectors so we’re asked to get busy again this year and see if we can beat last years total.

For any details please get in touch with Cheryl Cousins: Tel 843471, or Rosemary Clarke of the One World Centre who are helping to coordinate this initiative.
