Isle of Man consultancy SBA is bringing new technology capabilities to the Isle of Man. With the creation of a new 15-strong Virtual IT Team SBA is offering business technology, technology exploitation, and technology integration capabilities that have not previously been available from local IT suppliers.
SBA’s new Virtual IT Team will provide high end business IT capability with the focus firmly on the Information part of IT, and brings skills in Business Intelligence, Management Information, Financial Systems, ERP, CRM, Document Management, Sharepoint, Systems Integration, Business Process Engineering, Intranet Development, Data Warehousing, Database & Systems Performance Tuning, Mobile Computing, and Systems Selection & Procurement.
SBA’s Steve Burrows commented “This is not about technology provision, it’s about technology exploitation, capturing and creating value from technology in business. The Isle of Man has several good technology providers offering hardware, networking, hosting, cloud services and software development; SBA’s new Virtual IT Team is about leveraging each of these intelligently to create maximum business value in terms of improved profit-making opportunities and reduced operating costs.
There is a fundamental problem of scale on the island, it would be very difficult for IT businesses on the Isle of Man to offer the depth and breadth of expertise necessary to deliver these capabilities using full-time employees because the small size of the Island means that we do not have sufficient population of businesses to make such an IT business economically viable; the Isle of Man is not Leeds or Manchester. SBA’s approach of building a virtual IT team comprising some of the most experienced business technology experts on the Island is probably the only feasible way to create this capability locally.”.
SBA’s Virtual IT Team includes technologists who are also accountants, business strategists, process and quality improvement specialists, customer service experts, logistics experts, procurement experts and project managers in addition to their specialist information and technology skills.
