A LONG-STANDING Jersey Gas employee has been appointed as assets manager responsible for managing the assets of Jersey Gas, Guernsey Gas and Manx Gas.
Jersey born Kieran Burt has worked for Jersey Gas for 19 years, starting his career in the production plant before spending just over 11 years as a distribution operative. For the last five years, he has been operations officer (mains).
In his new role as assets manager, he will be responsible for the management of the assets in all three islands in a safe, efficient and sustainable manner.
‘I was looking for a new challenge which had lots of variety and the opportunity to increase my knowledge across the various different departments of the businesses in Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man,’ said Mr Burt.
‘I am confident my hands on experience at Jersey Gas over the past 19 years will help me in this new role and I can use that knowledge to benefit the younger generation within the three islands and help to deliver the best possible service to our customers.’
Having spent his whole career in Jersey, Mr Burt said he was looking forward to the opportunity of working all three islands.
‘It’s exciting to be managing the assets of three companies in three very different locations which all have their own unique characteristics and it’s going to be very interesting to learn more about the differences and how that impacts on our assets and the way in which we manage and maintain them.’
Outside of work, Mr Burt, who is married with a 13-year-old daughter, recently took part in a charity white-collar boxing event winning his fight and raising money for a number of charities.
