Scottish Widows risk and compliance manager Helen Critchley has retired after 19 years with the company.
Recalling her time there Mrs Critchley said: ‘For me what has always set the company apart are two things; the strong relationships built with clients and the close-knit group of colleagues I’ve been fortunate to work with, many of whom I meet up with outside of the office for social occasions.
‘During my time with Scottish Widows – and formerly when the company was CMI – I’ve been lucky enough to have met some great people and to have had opportunities to travel as part of my work to places including Hong Kong, Luxembourg and Maastricht.
‘I have also enjoyed teaming up with colleagues in community initiatives, such as the Book Buddies scheme that provides volunteer reading support to primary school children and I also recall the fun we all had working on a project to create a teaching garden at Ballacloan School.
‘But now I’m looking forward to my retirement, travelling for leisure and spending more time with my two grandchildren.’
Scottish Widows’ managing director Juan Clarke said: ‘Helen’s expertise in the field of risk and compliance and the close working relationships she developed with clients and the Isle of Man regulators made her an invaluable colleague over these past 19 years. Her contribution as a loyal and enthusiastic volunteer in many of our community schemes has also been much appreciated and we wish her well in her retirement.’
