Thomas Riley of Riley’s Garden Centre will be travelling to the UK this month representing Manx Athletics to try to break the Manx record in the 60mH.
Thomas will have three attempts in upcoming events on 26 January at London International Games, 2 February at Birmingham International Games and 10 February at the British Championships and World Trials where he will also be flying the flag for local charity Crossroads Care.
Thomas said “After such a poor season last year with a which I found out was due to a blood disorder, I am really looking forward to racing the indoor circuit and getting some great results. This will provide me with a great opportunity to raise awareness for Crossroads Care, who we have supported with great effect from the business with Riley’s Garden Centre. However, it will now allow me to support them from a sporting perspective, that I hope will raise awareness to the younger generation.”
Thomas is currently looking for sponsors to help him travel to the sporting events and support Crossroads Care. If you would be interested in sponsoring Tom, please contact him on 01624 616 116.
Alex Wilson, Crossroads Care Fundraiser, said “Thomas is a true ambassador for Crossroads Care. This year the family business has supported Crossroads to the tune of over £3000 and now Thomas is raising even greater awareness of the charity through his personal channels. Thomas is also sharing his passion for running and Crossroads Care with younger generations delivering talks in our island’s schools. We wish Thomas thanks and good luck and hope the island will get behind Thomas.”
