Keirron Tastagh, Adventure Sports Coach and Level 5 Kayak Instructor, based at Adventurous Experiences in the west of the Island, was a guest speaker at the Euro’Meet 2013 in Slovakia last week. The host city of Liptovsky Mikulas put on the European wide 3 day conference, where 150 European leaders discussed the benefits, direction and focus of outdoor sports and their role in sustainable development and provision from local community right up to EU policy level.
Keirron was requested to deliver the formula of the Adventure Club he runs, how this has developed with a ‘can do’ attitude, and also gave a presentation and answered questions on the Isle of Man as an outdoor sports location.
Since being invited to deliver at the Scottish Coaching Conference in September and Ireland Adventure Sports Conference in November last year, the unique format and structure of the Adventure Club has come onto the European radar.
Keirron Tastagh spoke of the conference as ”a little daunting, sat alongside professors and senior representatives from Prague, Strasbourg, Switzerland, N Ireland, UK… ”
“An immensely valuable experience. I was exposed to a vast depth of experience, knowledge and ideas, and I’m looking forward to sharing these with policy makers on the Island.”
