Isle of Man Oak Smoked Mature Cheddar Wins Bronze Medal at The British Cheese Awards 2010

Isle of Man Creamery Oak SmokedIsle of Man Creamery is delighted to announce that ‘Oak Smoked Mature Cheddar’ has won a Bronze medal at this year’s British Cheese Awards, which were held on Friday, 24th September 2010 in Cardiff.

The British Cheese Awards were created in 1994 and have become the ‘Olympics’ of the cheese world.  Around 900 entries were received from 190 cheesemakers this year, which were judged by a panel of 60 top industry experts, including cheese buyers, journalists, chefs and food critics.

Findlay Macleod, Managing Director said: “This is fantastic news for the Creamery.  Winning a Bronze medal at the British Cheese Awards is a tribute to the craft and dedication that our cheesemakers put into making our range of award winning cheeses.”

Isle of Man Oak Smoked Mature Cheddar is naturally smoked over oak chips in a specially designed kiln.  This traditional cold-smoking technique creates an evenly smoked and balanced flavour – crafted to taste better.
