At the beginning of July, family owned and run Le Mont Saint Garage unveiled its larger, totally refurbished premises following eight months of building work, which have resulted in an improved Sales display area and expanded Service Department.
The expansion was driven by the need to increase capacity in both departments, and the facilities on offer.
Following the work, the Service Department can accommodate four cars at any one time which will help to speed up the already smooth running process, and the Showroom now has an improved and larger floor area, and boasts better seating, a TV for clients to watch if they are waiting, plus new toilets. The facilities are shared by the two departments.
“Our aim was to improve the whole service we offer – not just that for new or used car sales, but in the aftercare we offer our customers,” explains Managing Director and founder, Dave Beausire.
The expansion has meant an increase in staff at the family run dealership.
The investment reflects the dealership’s confidence in the future of Guernsey’s motor trade and the island’s economy as a whole.
“There are some uncertainties about the economy at present – for example, whether GST will be brought in, and the effects of the introduction of paid parking – but we believe that the motor car will always play a major part in people’s lives, whatever the future may hold for it – whether this be electrical or solar power or further development of hybrids – and feel the dealership is perfectly placed now to respond,” Mr Beausire says.
Retirement is not an option for the energetic Dave Beausire – he says he’s having too much fun working with his wife and sons to even contemplate it at present.
“In business, you cannot rest on your laurels and throughout our 27 years in this industry we have moved with the times and adapted to market conditions to become, and remain, a leading force,” he concludes.
