Lloyds Bank and Scottish Widows colleagues are pitching up in Peel every Wednesday evening and engaging in friendly football rivalry.
Players from across the Lloyds Banking Group in the Island are competing in a seven-a-side league at the recently opened Tommy Clucas community sports hall in Peel. The matches are being organised by Scottish Widows’ unit pricing box manager Peter Bould who explained. ‘We kicked off about five weeks ago and plan to play through to Christmas and perhaps into the New Year. We’re seeing some talented players emerging already and it’s all very friendly – we’re all part of the Lloyds Banking Group – though as yet Scottish Widows hasn’t won a match.
‘Not only are we all enjoying playing but we’re also pleased to be supporting the aims of the Tommy Clucas Memorial Fund.’
Scottish Widows managing director Juan Clarke said: ‘These Wednesday evenings are proving a popular way for colleagues to get together in a very different way from their nine-to-five responsibilities. I’m delighted to see how effectively teamwork is working on the pitch as well as across the Lloyds Banking Group, a business always striving to provide customers with solutions that match their goals.’
