Heron & Brearley has raised £900 in ‘red-dies’, supporting the British Heart Foundation’s Ramp up the Red event on Friday February 7th.
The event, aimed at ramping up research into heart disease, involved staff across the business, as HR officer Rachel Hall explained. ‘Everyone really got behind the campaign, customers and staff. At our Kewaigue head office people came to work wearing something red; we also held cake bake sales – the cakes being mostly in various shades of red – and ran a sweepstake. Our managed estate got involved, too; there were pub sweepstakes and bar staff wearing red while at The Bridge there was live music and a raffle. Colleagues in our Spar convenience stores got into the spirit as well, wearing red and supporting the event together with their customers.
‘It was a fun event that as well as revealing some real baking skills and imaginative red fashion statements showed tremendous generosity on the part of our staff and customers, meaning we’re delighted to be able to donate £900 to this worthy cause.’
