Entries now open for the Royal London 360° Viking Longboat World Championship

Entries are now being taken for this year’s Royal London 360° Viking Longboat World Championships, in association with Manx Radio, which will take place in Peel on Saturday 20 August*. This is the event’s 48th year.

There are three categories – male, female and mixed – and within those, a number of prize classifications including:

  • Insurance company
  • Bank
  • Young Farmers
  • Fancy Dress
  • Shipping

Entry costs £100 per team, and spaces are limited to 70 on a first come, first served basis. All teams must commit to two practice sessions before the event – these begin on Monday 8 August.

The winning team in each category receives £500 for the Manx charity of their choice, the runner-up £250 and the third-placed team £150, with prize money being provided by Royal London 360°. Only Manx charities will benefit from this prize money.

* Racing will be postponed until 1pm on Sunday 21 August in the event of poor weather.
