Optimum Energy Solutions have recently received accreditation as the Isle of Mans only BPEC approved Renewables training centre.
The BPEC Renewables Awareness course is designed for anyone who wishes to learn more about renewable energy technologies. It’s a modular course starting with an introduction/context setting module which explains why we need to consider renewable energy systems within our homes and businesses.
It then continues with further modules looking at each technology and considering what each is capable of, what it can and can’t do, how it works, and what the potential financial benefits and payback period are likely to be.
The course may be of benefit to anyone from the general public to school teachers, plumbers, heating engineers, architects and specifiers to builders merchants’ employees.
The course is designed to be run as a series of 7 two hour modules and these can be run as evening classes, weekend workshops or as a two day block. Upon successful completion, candidates are awarded a Certificate of Achievement which is issued by BPEC directly. For those who wish to undertake further study the course provides an essential foundation from which to build upon – in fact the introductory course is generally seen as a pre-requisite to further training.
Marc Asker from Optimum comments “We’re delighted to have achieved this accreditation and look forward to working with companies who install such equipment to achieve best practise. The Islands seems to be warming to these technologies so I hope we can help to create and maintain a standard ensuring customers receive solid advice from their chosen supplier.
The Government already run excellent Energy Champion courses so we see this as an extension of the theme. Hopefully we can also spread the word about some of the Government incentives that are on offer such as the Green Business Loan”.
