DISTRIBUTION UNDER WAY OF IN-DEMAND 2010 PHONE BOOK
Isle of Man News, 27 January 2010 – The 2010 phone book is now being distributed to every household and business on the Island, Manx Telecom has announced. And its arrival will have a positive impact on the environment.
That’s because growing number of consumers are now using the on-line flip book version of the Directory.
“As a result, there’s been a print run reduction for the 2010 phone book – even though the publication is in greater demand than ever,” said Commercial Manager Andrew Honour. “Next year we hope to make even greater savings as the online book at www.directory.im/flipbook grows in popularity.
“Having the directory available on your PC is much more convenient for many customers, and advertisers can be assured that their advertisements are no longer limited to just the hard copy edition,” he added.
Meanwhile, following the success of last year’s campaign, Manx Telecom has confirmed that customers can continue to recycle their old phone books. It’s been agreed that one book per household will be taken with kerbside collections where they apply. As an alternative, residential customers can use the recycling skips available at the island’s civic amenity sites. Manx Telecom is providing further collection points at both its Head Office reception and High Street shops.
