DHSS Residential Care Fee Annual Increase for the financial year 2010/11

Isle of Man News, 23 February 2010 – The Department of Health and Social Security today announced that the weekly charge for Government run residential care homes (Resource Centres) for older people will increase from the 12th April 2010.  This is the annual increase which occurs routinely every year.

The weekly charge will rise from £380.87 per week to £391.16 per week from the above date.  This applies to residents of the Island’s Resource Centres at Southlands in Port Erin, Glenside and Reayrt ny Baie in Douglas and Cummal Mooar in Ramsey as well as the EMI (Elderly Medically Infirm) Gansey Unit in Southlands and Thie Meanagh in Braddan.

There will be no shortfall between the fees and benefit received from Income Support.  However, any resident who has concerns about their ability to pay should contact the Duty Manager in their Resource Centre who can help arrange a benefits assessment for them.
