A Village Harvest :
There’s an opportunity to step back into rural life on Sunday 6th October as Dalby Village celebrate their harvest with a local market and country kitchen in the schoolrooms on Sunday 6th October. The church and schoolrooms will be decorated throughout with flowers from hedgerows and gardens, local produce will be on sale throughout the day with jams and chutneys, pickles, parsnips and fresh garden veggies, cakes and confectionary and copious amounts of home baking. Come and help us share our harvest at The Dalby kitchen, from 12noon – 5.30pm serving homemade soups and sandwiches, cakes, coffee and afternoon tea throughout the day. Proceeds go to St James Church and Restoration Fund, the Manx charity the Robert Owen House and the Manx overseas charity the Malawi Mission project.
Harvest Home Songs of Praise at St James is at 5.30pm with traditional harvest hymns, reflections from local food growers on the meaning of harvest and music by the Manx Celtic choir Cliogaree Twooie. Guest preacher John Kennaugh will auction the remaining produce during the supper after the service.
