Courting success: Ramsey’s regenerated area takes centre stage during National Week

Ramsey’s Courthouse gardens proved a crowd-pleasing setting during the town’s National Week celebrations.

The newly regenerated gardens played host to, among other events, a food fair, Bunscoill Rhumsaa’s year 5 Manx music and dance group, a Ramsey Grammar School year 9 Zumba session, classical musicians from the Markgräfin-Wilhelmine grammar school in Bayreuth and Andreas School’s Flashmob.

Ramsey Town Commissioners’ chairman Captain Nigel Malpass said: ‘The regenerated Courthouse area and gardens have assumed their rightful place at the heart of community life in our town. The regeneration works have reinvigorated the area which is not only drawing praise from local businesses but now also provides a vibrant social meeting place offering an ideal setting for performance artists and community groups, as we saw during National Week.

‘The Courthouse Gardens have been designed expressly for public use and the Commissioners always welcome enquiries from groups and individuals wishing to use the area, now very much the social and entertainment hub of Ramsey’s town centre.’

Interested parties wishing to use the Courthouse Gardens are asked to call 810100 or email
