For the second successive year Douglas Borough Council is to support Manx National Heritage’s open days.
The programme offers open access or guided tours to properties, lands and displays usually closed to the public or charge admission.
Council leader David Christian said: ‘Last year’s open day generated a good deal of interest so we are delighted to be taking part once again this year over two days.
‘We always welcome members of the public to attend the Council’s monthly meetings but are especially pleased to have the opportunity of these Manx National Heritage open days to explain the stories behind some of the town hall’s interesting artwork, artifacts and ceremonial items and share with our visitors the history of this magnificent building that has been at the centre of civic life in the Borough since 1900.’
The Council chamber, Mayor’s parlour and committee room of Douglas town hall will be open to the general public on Friday October 11th from 12noon to 2pm and on Saturday October 12th from 11am to 3pm.
