On Thursday 19th June King William’s College welcomed eight education correspondents from top mainstream media of Chinese Tier 1 cities Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Sichuan, as well as one representative from a Chinese state-owned bank. King William’s College was one of only five British independent schools chosen to receive a delegation of Chinese media this year.

The Principal, Martin Humphreys, and his wife, Francesca, greeted the group and delivered an informative presentation on the relevance and quality of British education. The group toured the school and the south of the island, before a luncheon joined by guests from the Isle of Man Chinese Association and business associates from the Department of Economic Development, Dandara and the Manx Education Forum who all focus on encouraging successful business links with the Isle of Man across China.

Stephanie Gregg, Head of International Recruitment for King William’s College commented: “We are delighted to have partnered with the British Council and to have strengthened links with Chinese media partners in key cities. Shanghai in particular, has a growing appetite for the International Baccalaureate and this coupled with the high regard in China for British education makes a great potential alliance for welcoming new international students to King William’s College.”
