A team from Barclays won The Children’s Centre’s annual golf day which raised a total of £4,500. Twelve teams took part in the fun event held at Douglas Golf Club with second place going to a team from SMP, and the wooden spoon award to Pokerstars. Susie Cox, Community Fundraiser at The Children’s Centre, said:

“Our annual golf day is a very important event on our fundraising calendar and all of the proceeds go to support our charitable projects which help thousands of families and children across the Island. We would like to thank everyone who took part and contributed to raising such a magnificent total. Special thanks must go to Tower Insurance for sponsoring this year’s winners, runners-up and wooden spoon prizes. Thanks also to MAC Financial for providing a prize for the longest drive, to Pokerstars for providing prizes for the ‘beat the pro’ competition – and club professional Mike Vipond and Pete from The Meadows Pavilion for all of their help before the event and on the day.”

The annual golf day is just one of many fundraising events which The Children’s Centre organize each year to raise vital funds for its charitable projects. To find out about upcoming events go to
