Ashgrove launches Createurs 2014

Ashgrove Marketing’s Createurs competition

For the second year running, Ashgrove has announced the launch of Createurs, the competition for creative amateurs and hobbyists. Once again, Ashgrove is looking for Islanders who are interested in demonstrating their skills in 4 different categories: Graphic Design Copywriting, Web & Multimedia and Photography with the aim of applying these skills in a business setting. The competition will run from May until August after which competitors will get their work published in Gallery Magazine with up to £2000 worth of cash prizes to be won.

Thanks to the competition’s sponsors, Sure (Best Entry), Affinity (Photography and Graphic Design), Search & Select (People’s Choice), Gough Law (Copywriting) and Conister Bank (Web & Multimedia), all the category winners will enjoy cash prizes to the value of £300 In addition, ‘Best Entry’ and ‘The People’s Choice’ award winners will receive £400 and additional coverage. At the end of the competition, Ashgrove will be holding a prize giving party for all entrants where the winners will be announced.

Islanders who enter the competition will be supported with a one-to-one tutorial session with Ashgrove’s Brand Strategist, Graeme Brooks. Graeme will give advice on which categories to enter, how to write a creative rationale and tips on turning your creative skills into an effective marketing campaign.

Graeme commented on the competition: “This is a great opportunity for all of the creative people on the Island we come across regularly who are very talented but have yet to make a living from their talent. We urge everyone with an interest and a creative eye to come forward this year and start getting noticed. Thanks to our sponsors, there are some great cash prizes to be won and the chance to get your work published perhaps for the first time. If you are a budding photographer, writer, designer or artist, we want to hear from you.”

Creative projects must be entirely original and accompanied by a creative rationale which explains the thought process behind the submission. Chosen brands can range from local Manx businesses and charities to international brands or an entirely made up company.
