2013 TT HOMESTAY SCHEME LAUNCHED THIS WEEK

| November 27, 2012 | 0 Comments

HOMESTAY scheme registration for the TT Festival and the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling 2013 has been launched. The Department of Economic Development has sent out registration forms to home owners who have previously registered offering them the opportunity to register for the scheme again next year.

Householders who have not previously registered, but who are considering offering Homestay accommodation, are advised to register their interest with the Department as soon as possible to help to meet the ever-increasing demand and enable visitors to secure their bookings early. The registration fee is £15.00 to include both events.

All homestay accommodation is inspected by Isle of Man Tourism to ensure it meets the required quality standard as detailed in the Homestay Hosts’ information pack.

Homestay can be offered during TT for any number of nights between 25th May and 9th June 2013 and for the Isle of Man Festival of Motorcycling between 17th August and 1st September 2013. Last year the Department registered just under 800 properties.

Geoff Corkish MBE, MHK, Political Member for the Department of Economic Development with responsibility for Tourism said: ‘The growing demand for Homestay is proof positive of the continuing success of our TT Races attracting increasing numbers of visitors and fans from around the world.

‘This peak demand for accommodation could not be met were it not for the enthusiasm of Island householders who have embraced the scheme. It is a great opportunity for residents to share in the world status of this unique event and provide their own welcome to our Island.’

Registration for the TT Homestay scheme closes on 26th April 2013 and the Department is unable to accept any applications after that date.

For further information and terms and conditions please download the Homestay Hosts’ information pack from www.visitisleofman.com/homestay. If you feel you meet the criteria and would like to register for the Homestay scheme please call the Homestay team on 686802 or email homestay@gov.im.
