Local creative amateurs have walked away with a total of £1,050 of prizes after the Createurs 2013 Awards were held at the British Embassy, Douglas, on Thursday 19th September.
Local strategic communications and design agency Ashgrove Marketing held the ceremony to mark the closure of their competition, which has been running for several months. It challenged Manx creative amateurs to develop work that met a business need by contributing to their brand or marketing communications. Awards were available for photography, copywriting, web and multimedia, and graphic design, as well as overall best entry and the “people’s choice” as voted for by Facebook users.
Senior Manager at Ashgrove, Graeme Brooks, commented: “It was great to get all of the shortlisted competitors together and showcase some of their work to sponsors and other guests. I can’t thank everyone involved enough – the competitors who worked so hard and the sponsors and supporters who helped us put it on: Lloyds Bank, Okells, Robinson’s and Gallery magazine.
“Speaking for the project as a whole, the aim was to identify, mentor and reward creative talent. Mission accomplished, I think, plus we’ve had a lot of fun doing it. I am 99% certain we will be back next year with Createurs 2014.”
One entrant, Selina Hooper, contributed her £150 cash prize to Special Olympics IOM, the charity that was the subject of her winning entry.
